Tall Dundun-Indigo
This tall, indigo dun dun is designed for the dun dun dance. The dun dun dance originated in Guinea, West Africa, with the Baga Women using large cylindrical bass drums played with sticks. This drum was made tall enough to stand on the floor and play while dancing.
Shaw Percussion dunduns crafted from Canadian hardwoods are made at our Sutton West, Ontario shop. Once the drums are shaped and sized, they are finished in various colours and fitted with a cow or water buffalo hide. Our high-quality, low-stretch rope holds the drum heads tight and helps them maintain their tuning.
