Shaw Percussion Blue Burst Ashiko Drum
The ashiko drum has a tapered cone shape and is played with your bare hands, producing a crisp, dry slap, similar to a conga, and a round open bass sound. Our ashikos come in both 10” and 12” diameters with a 24” height, making them easily playable while seated. Shaw Percussion ashikos are fitted with a thick, strong water buffalo hide that provides both durability and a distinct tone that differentiates it from other hand percussion. We use high-quality, low-stretch Kevlar rope specially designed for our hand drums to not only look attractive but keep your drum in tune. Also available are our wood ashiko stands to make playing your ashikos easier than ever.
