Ojibway Drum Awakening Workshop – Georgina Island Tour

Georgina Island is the largest island in Lake Simcoe as well as a Native Reserve occupied by the Ojibway people. During the summer, the island is accessed by ferry.

Shaw Percussion and Jake Charles of First Nations Cultural Tours have worked together for many years with various projects and workshops like this one.

Jacob Charles,  an Ojibway from Georgina Island  operates First Nation Cultural Tours which  provides cultural tourism to people seeking to educate themselves  about First Nations People; in particular about the Ojibwe People and the First Nation of the Chippewas of Georgina Island.

On Sunday August 26th we are collaborating  with Jake to hold a  “Drum Awakening  Workshop” on Georgina Island. You can join the tour and participate in the workshop with or without a drum . If you do have a drum and you’d like to awaken it  you are welcome to bring it along,( it does not have to be a native drum). The tour and workshop will take about 2 hours.  Jake will give a cultural tour  followed by an Ojibway Drum Awakening ceremony workshop. These workshops always fill up quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Contact us  if you have any questions.
